چکیده

The gene product, phosphodiesterase 4D (PDE4D) is anchored at the centrosome-Golgi cell region by phosphodiesterase 4D interacting protein (PDE4DIP). PDE4D is a member of a family of phosphohydrolyases. These enzymes are involved in signal transduction and hydrolyze 3' cyclic phosphate bonds in 3’, 5’cGMP and 3’,5’-cAMP to energyze several reactions in the cell. The latter are termed second messengers and their rates of degradation are regulated. Eleven subtypes of PDEs comprise reactions related to memory and learning as well as other processes including immune cell activation, hormonesecretion, smooth vascular muscle action, platelet aggregation, and cardiac contractility [1].

Rare and Coding Region Genetic Variants Associated With Risk of Ischemic Stroke: The NHLBI Exome Sequence Project.

IMPORTANCE Stroke is the second leading cause of death and the third leading cause of years of life lost. Genetic factors contribute to stroke prevalence, and candidate gene and genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified variants associated with ischemic stroke risk. These variants often have small effects without obvious biological significance. Exome sequencing may discover predic...

Pentoxifylline Decreases Serum Level of Adhesion Molecules in Atherosclerosis Patients

Background: Inflammation is involved in development, progression, and complications of atherosclerotic disease. Clinical studies have indicated that the level of monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1), IL-18, and adhesion molecules correlates with the severity of atherosclerosis and can predict future cardiovascular events. Experimental studies have shown pentoxifylline (PTX) reduces these ...

Myomegalin is necessary for the formation of centrosomal and Golgi-derived microtubules

The generation of cellular microtubules is initiated at specific sites such as the centrosome and the Golgi apparatus that contain nucleation complexes rich in γ-tubulin. The microtubule growing plus-ends are stabilized by plus-end tracking proteins (+TIPs), mainly EB1 and associated proteins. Myomegalin was identified as a centrosome/Golgi protein associated with cyclic nucleotide phosphodiest...

Direct interaction of the Usher syndrome 1G protein SANS and myomegalin in the retina.

The human Usher syndrome (USH) is the most frequent cause of combined hereditary deaf-blindness. USH is genetically heterogeneous with at least 11 chromosomal loci assigned to 3 clinical types, USH1-3. We have previously demonstrated that all USH1 and 2 proteins in the eye and the inner ear are organized into protein networks by scaffold proteins. This has contributed essentially to our current...

Temperature dependence of I-V characteristics of C60 molecule

Making use of a generalized Green’s function technique and Landauer formalism, the temperature depended current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of C60 molecule, sandwiched between two metallic electrodes are numerically investigated. In addition, the influence of the electron-phonon coupling strength on the electronic properties of the molecule is studied. The I-V characteristics of the molecule ...
